Marula trees grow across the Limpopo lowveld and up into Mpumalanga. The kernel inside the fruit stone is pressed cold, and what comes out is a light golden oil that has been used on skin here for a very long time.
What the oil is made of
Marula is high in oleic acid, which is why it spreads so thinly and absorbs quickly. It also carries a good load of natural antioxidants, which is what keeps the oil itself stable on a shelf and gives skin some protection against day to day pollution.
What you will notice
Most people notice two things in the first fortnight. Dry patches around the nose and mouth settle down, and the tight feeling after washing goes away. Tone evens out slower, usually over six to eight weeks.
What it will not do
It will not bleach your skin and it will not clear cystic acne. Any product that claims either is selling you something else. Marula is a conditioning oil, and it is very good at that job.
How we use it
Marula is the base of LUXÉVIA Skin Glow. It is paired with rosehip for brightness and jojoba for balance, so the blend suits combination skin as well as dry skin.
